Wizard of Oz DVD features review part 40

well once again it Friday and time again for another Wizard of Oz DVD feature review and today will take a look at another silent film from 1914 again called The Magic Cloak of Oz so lets start on this wonderful trip back in time.

thoughts on story and silent film 

A very well put film bye Frank Baum well done for a  film back in 1914 where we didn't have much action movies yet again you had animals played bye humans which it odd a women who played bye a boy who is made into king later on in the film and also a magic Cloak that grants wishes which was cool also there is a little girl who is name little Mary I guess she can of look like snow white if you asked me my guess that the robbers holding her as a prisoner yep I was right just see it coming to her aid was animals and then she got home and was safe. very good story this was for 41 mins and as for the acting it was good but for something reason I liked Humans playing the Animals because they are very good acting as them but that just me the acting wasn't too bad for a 1914 film and story was good for a 1914 some good effects too which is at started at film bye the way after that you don't see too much for effects as for the ending it was good I did like this film not bad and if you like Silent movies as I do you like this too.

final thoughts 

another great silent film that was great and it cool they added this in the DVD boxset something you should check out if you get a chance will post the link to film below and also I must say it is a good looking at the old films because then you see how it was done back then when you look at movies now you will say things has indeed change a lot over the past 100 years.

Wizard of Oz DVD features review part 39

we are now on the start of review Disc 4 of Wizard of Oz DVD Features Review as we take look at another very old rare and silent movie called his Majesty, The Scarecrow of Oz from all the way back in the year 1914.


we start off with a girl head pop up on the screen my guess Princess Gloria  then we go to the title here is the players list as they call it in 1914 below.

Sound
not much sound but cool music to add to the film

story thoughts
pretty much looking at this very old movie or film you worder what the story is about and this one was very good for a a hour movie it was can of creepy that witch freeze Princess Gloria Heart from loving and also tin man chop off witch head was also odd not for kids to see in my view but she end up put her head back on can of creepy again something kids should not see the ending of film wasn't bad either nice ending.


acting good or bad
it wasn't too bad some good and some boring but not worst though the actors did a great job in this one no problems at all animals was played bye a human which was cool he did a good job playing them everybody did a worderful job in this one


effects
they had very neat effects for 1914 like when the witch head was cut off she put it back on fast very good effects for this one


Final thoughts
watching old films from early days is fun and it makes it more fun review them too this was a good one too check it out below also we still got more awesome old great films to review part of Wizard of Oz DVD features review

Wizard of Oz DVD features review part 38

welcome to a Thursday Edition of  Wizard of Oz DVD features review and this week will be taking a look at Hollywood Celebrates Its Biggest Little Stars a 10 min look at munchkins of Wizard of Oz

it was very good 10 min look at celebrate the Munchkins with interviews with family members and Munchkins but 10 Min's wasn't enough should of been a little bit longer because they are also another reason why this movie is great not hated on this 10 min film but would of like to see more but it was not bad happy they did something for them in 2009 think this took place unsure but it was nice see video from it added in here. so if you got 10 mins check this out as you may like it or sort of agree they could added more then 10 mins.

Final Thoughts

first time I see the Munchkins was I was Just a kid worder who they was and I thought they were odd looking but then growing up now know how special they are too this movie without them this book or movie would not be good. 

Off to Disc 4 we go? 

well after this we start disc 4 of Wizard Of Oz DVD features review since I allready did Wizard of Oz 1933 when I started in 2013 I did go back and look at it was not happy with the way it  was write it was a mess so I am working on edit along with others to make it great so you can look at now if you like but do note it is very messing so look soon for a new version of it soon well hope you enjoy this week review and see you next Friday for the start of Disc 4 Review of Wizard Of Oz DVD Features review and also forgot to add hopefully the next blogs will be longer.

Wizard of Oz DVD features review part 37

after a break it has return the Wizard Of DVD Features review is back and it time again but before we start next week due to me going to Fargo blues on Friday I will be posting Wizard of Oz DVD features on Thursday next week so just letting everybody know so let get started on this review shell we.


Last time we review the greatness of Victor Fleming this time we look at the man behind the greatness of this classic oz books series called L. Frank Baum The Man Behind the Curtain a 27 min film on the life and times of Frank Baum.

must say this was a good look at the man himself now it shows you everything on how he got started on The Oz books which he went though a lot to get it going  also it shows on how he meet his wife and started a family I did like this learn a lot more about Frank Baum the man behind the classic wizard of Oz movies and books it is indeed a must see if you get a chance to watch this it a very well made 27 min Film on him could of been a bit more longer like 1 hour otherwise it was good.


Thoughts from me on Frank Baum and his Oz Books
Figure I  write more to make this blog a little bit longer so what Do I think about the books well I am still Reading his first Oz book and so far it is Wonderful it is indeed like people say a Classic and they are right like how story goes there is a lot of stuff you read in this book that not in 1939 movie but I like that  because it lot of new stuff to me as well so good book indeed and I do plan on reading more of his books down the line so if you get a chance read some of his Oz books they are indeed amazing from what I see so far and without this man the Wizard of oz would not be around with out him next book when I find it that I will be reading will be The Marvelous Land of Oz looking forward to reading it and more of his books in the future.

Moondance Jam 24 Day 3 Review

it the last day and last part of this 3 day Review of Moondance Jam and figure what a way to end it on my Birthday so let get started again shell we.


day 3 weather bring sunny skies hot in the day then it started cool off a lot so a nice and not rainy day to end moondance jam 24 now that I said that lets get on to the band reviews shell we.


ThunderHerStuck
First band was the return of the all Women ACDC tribute Band called Thunderstuck see them many times live and was happy that they have return too Moondance Jam again this year and everytime I see them they put on a great show and this year it was awesome I rock a lot to there songs they played some great ACDC songs too and after got my picture taken with some of band members which was cool so it was great see them again and do hope they return next year Rating 10/10


Black Star Riders
next Band was the Black Star Riders who I never see at moondance jam so this was indeed another first time see this band and it indeed was great had a good time listen to them will indeed be listen to more in the future hopefully Rating 9/10


Finger Eleven
next Band after it was Finger Eleven who I know and hear very well they did the theme music of wwe superstar Kane back in the days called Slow Chemical awesome song bye the way so was looking forward to see them live and hope they played that song never got to hear it but oh well they still rock the place with other great songs hopefully I will get to see them again live in Future. Rating  8/10

Peter Frampton
Next up after a great Tribute to The Troops Peter Frampton took the stage I have see him before at Moondance Jam and enjoy him the last time he was here which was years ago so he was due to come back to me and he did this year and put on amazing show my fav song is Baby I love Your Way which I did get to hear him sing live which was cool one thing for sure if you get a chance to see him live do so because he puts on a amazing show with great music. Rating 10/10

Shinedown
last band of the Year to close out Moondance Jam and it was Shinedown this was another band that I see for the first time live and they were good we end up staying for almost the whole show but not the end great way to close out this 3 day event. Rating 9/10.


Final thoughts
it been a fun time again at Moondance jam and it was crazy the way it start with 4 inches of rain but after that we got great weather for the rest of Moondance Jam I would like to thank staff and everybody else for put on this great event it was fun and looking forward to next year see you then and thanks to everybody who join me on my birthday and reading day 3 of my Moondance jam review will leave you with the link to Moondance Jam site below

Moondance Jam 24 Day 2 review

it day 2 of my Moondance jam 24 review so let get started shell we go below.


after a rainy 1st day we went back for day 2 as soon I got there things have dry up fast that 4 inches of rain was gone and it was sunny and hot up to 88 for a temp but least it was not rain out so we were all ready for day 2 of Moondance Jam.


Friday July, 17, 2015


Honeymoon Suite was the first band I see on the main stage and this was another band I see for the first time and it was great they were like most of there songs another great band from the 80's and I did rock out a few times my rating for them will be 9/10 for great.


next band was Vixen this was also my first time see them live and this band also fit me since I grow up in the 80's and like 80's music a lot they did a great job even had me dance a lot to there awesome music also after one of band members talk to me and high five before she left so that was cool it was awesome to see them live for the first time hope sometime they will return to Moondance jam for a rating will give them 9/10.


Jefferson Starship was next see them years at moondance jam and like there music it was cool they came and play some of them great hits my fav one was the white rabbit song like that song it was a odd song but one of fav songs so it was a great time see them a 2 time around this will be another band that I hope returns in the future for a rating I give them 8/10

Huey Lewis & the News
this was another band that I was looking forward when I first heared they are coming back to Moondance Jam because grow up in the 80's they are my fav band growing up as and they have been there years ago see them also then so it was great they came back and they indeed rock it got me dancing a few times to great favs songs like If This It, The Heart of Rock & Roll and one of fav theme from Back To The Future The Power Of Love had a good time see them good to me if this is the last time see it was worth it see them live play 2 times in my life Rating 10/10


The Doobie Brothers
they were the last band of the Friday lineup I see them many times and like see them live and this time around they were awesome too only got listen to 3 songs do to we being tired out and went home so for a rating will give them a 8/10


Final Thoughts
Friday was great better weather but a hot one rain hold off weather guys said it was going to rain at night but didn't much thank god had a good time at day 2 I did lots of great music and good times with friends and family too. well that it for Moondance Jam 24 Day 2 Review get ready for my Day 3 review which will bump to Thursday this week Because it my Birthday so will be write a blog on my Birthday so that will be cool so unit then have a great day.

Moondance Jam 24 Day 1 Review

this week is a very special blog review week of Moondance Jam number 24 so lets start the review shell.


well day 1 was off to not  a good start you will find out why in the bit after bands reviews the first band played on Thursday was Pat Travers Band great music it was never listen to there music much but did like hearing there music live good music it was. 2nd band of the night was Pop Evil who I never heared of before but did watch some of there music video before moondance jam and this was another band I was looking forward to see live for the first time and I must say they rock the place indeed it was great see them for the first time live hope they come  back soon to moondance jam that pretty much it for the bands I see.


then after that it started Rain again and this time would not stop it rain hard though out the night Cause us to leave early  and run to the car fast I never see it rain That hard in years Papa roach didn't make it on but did hear Sammy Hagar rock the place in the  Saloon since the main stage was closed due to flooding hats off to Sammy Hagar for still playing wish I got to see him but heavy rain was not fun total rain Moondance jam got was 4 inches which was a lot that was also first flash flood I been for in my life hope not again well that it for day 1 review would of been longer but the heavy rain cause me to write this short day 1 review. day 2 review will be better trust me so stay turned for that as this 3 day moondance jam 24 review  continues on Tuesday.
