Gore and Blood?
there is indeed blood and gore the opening Min's of the movie you get lots of blood and gore in them parts . as for the whole movie the blood and gore level is indeed high so you will no be left out if you want lots of gore and blood for this movie.
scary or not scary?
this is indeed a scary movie the opening Min's of the movie with the creepy intro and others parts of the opening parts will indeed send chills to you and scare you some. also though the movie there lots of scary parts like body parts, ugly monsters, cutting and other lots of fun stuff to scare you in this one scary level is indeed high for this one if you like to be scared.
Letdowns
no letdowns was not letdown at once in this one,

was the whole storyline of the movie on having them staying at that insane house for 1 night without being killed for lots of money also like the twist where they added on who can you trust and who not to trust made the plot even more great. and as for the acting most of it was good but Famke Janssen to me was bad ass in this she did great playing a bad wife she did great playing Evelyn also it was something to see Lisa loeb, James marsters and Slavitza Dovan in this one they had short parts but it was cool see them in this one. as for effects they did a great job with blood and gore it scared me some very cool effects for the big ending as well.
Final Thoughts
House on Haunted Hill is indeed a fun Scary movie to watch for this time of the year if you like to be scared then this movie is indeed for you also after the credits watch for a small extra at the end. also this is one house I don't think I like to stay at.
